Foundation#1 approached Clickk to develop a new website to perform simple content updates, boost donations and make it easy for people to apply for help.

Workshop

We started the project with an in-depth workshop, working with Foundation#1’s PR firm and key stakeholders. This discussion enabled us to truly understand the organisation and its breadth. The commercial objectives we’re defined with the main priorities being:

  • Align the new website design with Foundation#1’s branding guidelines
  • Inform users of latest initiatives of the organisation
  • Promote donations & partnerships
  • Enable Foundation#1 staff to easily update website content
  • Track website performance and traffic

Once the goals of the project were established, we developed a structured plan to achieve these objectives. This involved the following:

  • Identifying user profiles: we worked with Foundation#1 to define the target audience and their needs. Once defined, we brainstormed ways the websites could meet these needs and create a great user experience.
  • Design Brief: our graphic designer undertook a comprehensive design brief to ensure the visual aesthetics aligned to Foundation#1’s goals. We compiled a list of websites for inspiration which we then presented to the team. This allowed us to gather feedback regarding design preferences and styles.
  • Content management requirements: Our developers assessed the content management needs, and identified what access/editing ability they required to easily manage website content.

Design

From here, our internal team commenced the design with a mood board – which became fundamental to the overall aesthetic of the website. Interactive page mockups were then created for the key pages of the website. These pages included:

  • Home
  • About and General Information
  • Services
  • Contact
  • News and Blog

We presented these pages to the team for revision and feedback. This allowed us to refine the design and make and changes prior to further development.

Development

We iteratively developed the site, working with Foundation#1, meeting all key deadlines along the way. Through the development cycle we built out the following functionality.

  • Responsive Functionality – Mobile and tablet friendly
  • Integrations – Google Analytics, Google Search Console and MailChimp
  • Content Management System – backend access for the client and editing ability
  • SEO – meta titles and descriptions

Launch

Once the website had been review and approved by the team, we commenced the go live sequence. This involved the following

  • Hosting migration – we worked with the teams I.T. provider to point the domain name to the new server.
  • Testing – we ran a series of quality assurance tests to ensure the website functions seamlessly across desktop, laptop, tablets and mobile phone. Contact forms and integrations were also tested as part of out Q.A process.
  • Training – we conducted a training session with the team showing them how to make changes to the website.
  • Monitoring – post launch monitoring of the website for 30 days after launch as a precautionary measure

The project resulted in an extremely user-friendly, fast and robust website.

The site now integrates with Typeform, enabling frictionless integrations with communications via emails.

The team can easily login and make changes when necessary.
