Solar Neighbourhoods, an initiative by 1KOMMA5°, connects local councils and communities to drive renewable energy adoption. Clickk partnered with 1KOMMA5° to design and deliver a vibrant, user-friendly website that visually embodies sustainability, collaboration, and modern digital accessibility.

Shining a Light on Local Solar

  • Custom WordPress Website Design: A fully custom design that extends The Brand Pool’s visual identity into an engaging, modern website experience.
  • UX/UI Design & Refinement: Collaborated closely with 1KOMMA5° to evolve wireframes and improve usability through smart design adjustments.
  • Design Review Workshops: Facilitated meetings with City of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie City, and Maitland City Council to align all stakeholders on layout and functionality.
  • Custom Packages Page: Integrated anchor-based navigation for quick access to package details, improving user flow and engagement.
  • Image Composition & Product Layering:  Created custom composite product images from supplied assets to enhance visual appeal.
  • Tight Timeline: The project required a quick turnaround to support an active solar campaign launch.
  • Multiple Stakeholders: Coordination between 1KOMMA5°, local councils, and branding partners required strong facilitation and efficient decision-making.
  • Brand Consistency: Extending The Brand Pool’s brand assets into a fully functioning digital environment while maintaining legibility, accessibility, and usability.
  • Design Balance: Creating a vibrant and colourful interface that remained readable, intuitive, and non-overwhelming for diverse audiences.

Clickk adopted a fast-tracked yet collaborative approach to deliver a premium result within the deadline:

  1. Stakeholder Collaboration: Conducted design review meetings with all key stakeholders; including three city councils and 1KOMMA5°, to present layouts, gather feedback, and finalise designs efficiently.
  2. Brand Integration: Extended the supplied brand guidelines into a cohesive web design system, strategically using colour, iconography, and rounded shapes to maintain warmth and approachability.
  3. Vibrant Visual Direction: Used layered icons, shifting background colours, and rounded corners to create a visually dynamic yet balanced layout. Colour was used not just decoratively, but functionally, to draw attention to calls-to-action and highlight important information.
  4. UX/UI Refinement: Built upon the provided wireframes from 1KOMMA5°, introducing UX/UI enhance for smoother navigation and improved hierarchy.
  5. Functional Enhancements: Designed anchor tag navigation on the Packages page, enabling users to jump directly to relevant sections without confusion or excessive scrolling.
  6. Quality Assurance & Delivery: Ensured accessibility, responsive layouts, and performance optimisation before go-live to meet modern web standards and ensure broad compatibility.
  • Strong Launch Results: Within four weeks of launch, the Solar Neighbourhoods campaign achieved nearly $1 million in solar sales, with more leads in progress.
  • Client Feedback:

“Solar Neighbourhoods campaign is going really well; nearly $1 million of solar sales in first 4 weeks and quite a few more to come! All thanks to the website I reckon. 😀
