Pulse Climbing

Since 2011, Pulse Climbing has been on a mission to foster the growth and wellbeing of the local climbing community in Newcastle, the Central Coast and Hunter Valley.

Scaling Pulse Climbing to New Heights

Scott, Nate and the Pulse Climbing team approached Clickk to redevelop their website from scratch. Having internally built out brand guidelines, the Pulse team needed a new website that reflected their updated brand, mission and ethos.

Unique Design: utilising brand guidelines, we came up with a very unique design that truly represented the brand. It includes an array of unique design components that were custom built and designed by our team.

Online Booking: after exploring the customer experience, we found that the existing site did not have the ideal customer flow. We developed a mega menu, enabling customers to easily sign the waiver or book online. The site also features an online group booking system for parties.

SEO: a key part of the project was to uphold the strong rankings the team had achieved since 2011.

The main challenge for Pulse was the multiple systems that the team uses in daily operations. Our team had to come up with elegant and strategic ways to integrate these three systems through our website, in order to aid the customer experience. This included waivers, bookings, group bookings and gift cards.

The site also had a short turn around time, with the existing site approaching its end of life.

Through a series of workshops and interviews with key stakeholders, we began to form a greater understanding of the users of the site. It also helped that our very own Tim Wall climbs at Pulse twice a week!

Customer personas were designed and these underpinned the project direction, highlighting the needs and pain points of the audiences which go onto the site.

It was also very important to ensure that Pulse stood out in comparison to other competitors.

The result is a website that truly showcases who Pulse is, their mission and it offers an easy way for customers to commence climbing. The information across the site is organised, enabling users to climb seamlessly from the web to the walls. The easy to use WordPress CMS enables Nate to easily update content without relying on our support team.

Pulse has future plans for a fully integrated E-Commerce offering which we are excited to commence.
