Nourished Not Deprived

We redesigned Nourished Not Deprived’s website, enhancing usability, accessibility, and engagement with a fresh, user-friendly, and mobile-optimised digital experience.

Nourished Not Deprived, A Website That Thrives

To help Nourished Not Deprived achieve their digital goals, we delivered a modern, user-friendly website tailored to their needs. The project included:

  • Custom Design and Development: Clickk built a clean and modern WordPress site from scratch with responsive designs for desktop, tablet, and mobile. Custom design page templates for Home, About, Contact, Services (NDIS, Physical Health, Mental Health), Funding, Careers, and Referral Forms. The design was intentionally fun and playful with a welcoming aesthetic while ensuring key messaging was easily digestible.
  • Bespoke Icon Set: Created hand-drawn icon set to complement the website’s branding, making it friendly and inviting. These icons provided a visual representation of the process for getting help. Our designer, Jemma, incorporated NND’s brand colours to maintain consistency throughout the design.
  • SEO Migration and Content Management: Migrated 117 pages of content, including services, team profiles, and referral partner information. Included meta-titles and meta descriptions on pages.
  • User-Friendly Features: Built a custom CMS for staff to easily manage content updates. Incorporated custom Gravity Forms for referrals and other submissions. These were designed to match the overall style of the site as part of the global styles.
  • Visual Enhancements: Since no original imagery was provided, we compiled a gallery of stock images that matched the website’s aesthetic. Jemma edited these by cutting out backgrounds to blend seamlessly with the design.
  • Mobile-First Approach: The mobile version was a key priority, with Jemma dedicating significant effort to optimising the mobile experience for usability and aesthetics.
  • Video Integration: The client provided several informative videos that required creative and strategic placement to enhance the user experience without overwhelming the page design.
  • Post-Launch Support: Conducted in-house testing, debugging, and speed/security optimisation. Configured Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Search Console. Provided a 30-day monitoring period and a 1-hour training session for NND staff.
  • Accessibility and Compliance: We implemented the UserWay accessibility extension, allowing users to adjust font size, contrast, and dyslexia-friendly settings.

During the project, we faced a series of challenges:

  • Large Site Map: Migrating approximately 117 pages of content while maintaining a clean navigation structure and preserving SEO rankings.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Aligning the needs of internal staff, external marketing partners, and SEO/SEM agencies.
  • SEO Migration: Minimising the anticipated drop in traffic post-migration by adhering to best practices.
  • Brand Simplification: Translating Bronte’s vision for a “digital agency-like” aesthetic into a website that maintained NND’s unique identity.

To overcome these challenges, we followed a structured, collaborative process:

Preliminary Research:

  • Conducted an in-depth traffic analysis using Google Analytics.
  • Reviewed existing marketing collateral and identified key SEO/SEM considerations.
  • Prepared a mood board inspired by websites that aligned to the stylistic direction provided by Bronte.

Discovery Workshop:

  • Held a 1.5-hour workshop with our graphic designer, developer, and project manager.
  • Collaboratively brainstormed branding direction, UX/UI concepts, and key website goals.

UX/UI Design:

  • Created responsive mockups for Home, About, Contact, Services, and more.
  • Developed a global styling guide with a design system to ensure consistency.
  • Incorporated professional photography, animations, and Bronte’s Canva masterpiece inspiration.
  • Strategically placed videos to maximise engagement without disrupting user flow.

Development:

  • Built the website on a custom WordPress CMS platform with responsive breakpoints.
  • Configured Wordfence for security and ensured the site was scalable for future growth.

Testing and Launch:

  • Conducted rigorous testing across browsers and devices.
  • Performed speed, security, and SEO checks.
  • Ensured all Gravity Forms matched the overall website design.
  • Tested the Forms to ensure deliverability.

Our collaborative approach resulted in a website that exceeded expectations and resolved NND’s challenges:

  • Simplified Navigation: The new site structure allowed users and referral partners to seamlessly lodge referrals and access services, even with a large site map.
  • Improved Brand Image: A fresh, modern aesthetic with custom iconography and animations reinforced NND’s competitive difference.
  • SEO Success: By carefully planning the migration, we minimised traffic loss and set the foundation for future growth.
  • Accessibility and Inclusivity: Some of our design options contributed to an accessible experience to all users through the UserWay accessibility extension, which allows adjustments for font size, contrast, and dyslexia-friendly settings.
  • Efficiency for Staff: The custom CMS and training enabled the NND team to manage content independently, reducing reliance on external support.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: The website catered to internal and external stakeholders, fostering better collaboration and communication.
  • Client Feedback: Bronte expressed delight with the new website, noting that it aligned perfectly with her vision and significantly enhanced NND’s online presence.
