The Gloves Now team approached Clickk with a unique request: to make gloves “fun.” Their existing site was functional but lacked any spark. It didn’t reflect the bold personality of the brand, the variety of industries served, or the premium nature of their product line.

Client-side issues included:

  • Outdated website design and underwhelming product presentation
  • Complex navigation that didn’t reflect industry segmentation
  • Limited search and filter functionality, frustrating users with specific needs
  • A lack of visual flair or engagement, which didn’t align with the quality of the gloves

Clickk’s internal design challenges included:

  • Balancing animations and interactivity without overwhelming usability
  • Avoiding overuse of the brand’s bright orange accent while still making it functional as a visual guide
  • Designing consistent layouts for a wide range of glove types — from disposable to reusable, industrial to medical
  • Managing dynamic product data like reviews and stock variation while maintaining a clean visual hierarchy

1. Discovery & Strategy

The project kicked off with a discovery session involving Jess, Simon and the Clickk team. We clarified goals, explored brand inspiration (including Bunnings, Sydney Tools, and Voltex), and built a roadmap to transform the site into something playful, intuitive and functional.

2. Design Exploration

Drawing on the high-quality product photography, our design team leaned into creative collage techniques — deep-etching hands wearing gloves and layering them with gritty, on-the-job textures like oil, tools and paint. This approach brought the products to life in an unexpected, human way.

We used large, bold headings with custom icons, layered colour in headings, and created a shadow-hover button style to enhance interaction. The rotating logo GIF and subtle animations added visual punch without distracting from navigation.

3. Information Architecture & Navigation

We completely restructured the site’s navigation, implementing a visual mega menu categorised by glove type and industry. This gave users an at-a-glance way to find what they need—whether they’re a tattoo artist or a concreter.

Each product archive page was equipped with a sticky filtering system, allowing users to sort by glove type (disposable, reusable, surgical, or specialty), certification, key features, intended industries, and purchase format (bulk or single unit).

4. Product Page Consistency

We created a structured formula for product imagery: starting with the glove on white, followed by a rotated version, and ending with a photo of the glove in use. This format provided visual consistency across the product range while showcasing real-world application.

Variation selection (e.g., size and quantity) was given a visual overhaul using a plugin for swatches and custom CSS. We also built dynamic visibility into the product templates—automatically hiding the review section if no reviews existed to reduce visual clutter.

5. Backend & Handoff

The site was built on WordPress with Elementor to allow the Gloves Now team full control post-launch. We provided training and set up an intuitive CMS dashboard so they could easily manage products, upload images, and adjust text without developer involvement.

The new Gloves Now website is a bold departure from the expected — combining strong UI/UX principles with character, colour, and clarity. Designed to cater to a wide audience across industries, the platform now delivers on every front: fun, function, and flexibility.

Key outcomes included:

  • A dramatically improved user experience, with faster filtering and clearer product categorisation
  • Consistent branding and playful interactions that differentiate Gloves Now from industry competitors
  • Improved backend usability for the team, reducing reliance on external support
  • Positive feedback from Jess, Simon and end users — particularly around the new product browsing and filtering experience
  • A seamless launch with minimal disruption to SEO or site performance

This project proves that even a utilitarian product like gloves can be presented in a way that’s clever, memorable and enjoyable — all while making it easier for customers to find the exact product they need.
