Velich Advisory’s previous website was functional but lacked the polish and personal touch needed to reflect their client-first approach. While the firm prided itself on strong relationships and tailored financial advice, their digital presence didn’t do this justice.
The main challenges included:
From our side, the key challenge was finding the right template structure that would support Velich Advisory’s goals, while still feeling custom and unique.
Initial Project Scoping: We began the project with a discovery call and strategy session with Dan to understand the commercial drivers behind the website update. This session covered business goals, the firm’s tone of voice, main competitors, target audience expectations, and functional requirements. It also gave us insight into Velich Advisory’s point of difference—direct access to Dan and a personalised service model—which would become core to the design and messaging.
Template Selection: Given the goal of achieving a professional but cost-effective result, we recommended our Business Essentials website package. We reviewed a selection of layout structures and collaborated with Dan to select one that could balance strong UX with room for personalisation. This helped us accelerate production while still delivering a website that felt unique and brand-aligned.
Homepage Mock-Up: To visualise the direction early on, we developed a homepage mock-up before designing the rest of the site. This step served as a checkpoint to gain alignment and build confidence in the look and feel. It allowed us to showcase the layout, typography, colour application, and key calls-to-action in context. Dan provided specific, thoughtful feedback which we used to refine the next stage of design.
Design Iteration: Once the homepage was approved, we rolled out the remaining internal pages—About, Services, Free Resources, and Contact—maintaining a consistent visual identity. We made sure the content structure aligned with how users typically explore accounting websites, guiding them toward enquiries or downloading free resources. The design remained intentionally simple, with a focus on clean layouts and clear messaging.
Content Integration: Dan provided finalised copy for each page, which we implemented across the site. In some areas, we advised on formatting for better readability and hierarchy. Dan provided us with professional photography for the website give the website a personalised touch.
CMS Customisation: We tailored the WordPress backend to suit the Velich Advisory team’s needs, making it easy to manage services, resources and content updates without developer support. Key sections were streamlined using custom posts, giving Dan flexibility while maintaining design consistency.
Mobile Responsiveness: We ensured the website performed flawlessly across all major devices. This included design optimisation for smaller screens, touch-friendly interactions, and mobile-first scaling of typography and layout. Each page was visually tested on desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports to ensure a seamless experience.
Quality Assurance & Launch: Before launch, we conducted a detailed QA process across major browsers and devices. This involved checking for responsiveness, link accuracy, speed optimisation and accessibility standards. We also applied on-page SEO best practices—like optimised meta titles, headings, and alt text—to ensure the site was technically sound and search-ready. Once everything passed QA, the site was launched with minimal disruption.
The final website gave Velich Advisory a digital presence that now matches their real-world service: professional, personal, and polished.
Key outcomes included:
The website sets a strong foundation for future growth, digital lead generation, and improved client communication.
